Information:
James
and Charles talk about Arlene’s latest
podcast for her epilepsymoms.com website. A
local woman had her son put on the
ketogenic
diet after hearing about it from Arlene’s
site and in a matter of a few weeks he became
seizure free. James and Charles talk a little
bit about the history of the ketogenic diet
and the growth of Arlene’s site. James
talks in broad strokes about creating a podcast
and what it contributes to the website. James
points out that the main goal of Arlene’s
site was first to help Adam and get the information
out about epilepsy and profits while important
were not the primary motivation. James talk
s about kitcarconnection.com which he has been
working on full bore since the BootCamp ended.
His writers have been adding 16 articles a month
to the site. James has been getting 7000 visitors
a month in July which is a low traffic month.
James and Charles talk about tech issues with
websites and how to deal with them. James points
out that it is not necessary to learn something
that you are not going to have to do repeatedly
when you can hire someone to do it. Technical
problems are frequently one off problems but
if they are frequent problems James learns to
deal with them himself. James talks about some
of the tech issues that his students have run
into – there are always tech issues and
there is always a learning curve. The first
rule of troubleshooting: Don’t panic.
James talks about what he looks for in a hosting
company. James’ son Justin has started
to build his own website and has been participating
in James’ online forum. The forum members
talk about different issues and how to deal
with things. James offers a 14-day trial
for $1 to the forum/member
area.
