Information:
James
is back from Las Vegas where he attended Affiliate
Summit. There were about 3000 people in attendance
at the Rio All-Suite Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.
James believes this was a seminal event in the
history of affiliate marketing. James talks
about the students whom he meet up with at the
Affiliate Summit. The last night that he was
there James went to a dueling piano bar with
some of the other students who still had some
energy left. Affiliate managers make some great
offers to affiliates at these big events which
poses a danger of pulling someone off track
from the project they are working on. Everyone
who attended that James new were blown away
by the size of the event and the amount of business
being done. There are a lot of niche boutiques
like Digital River which focus on only software.
The
Blue Man Group put on a special show (as
part of their marketing of their own affiliate
program ) for the attendees of the Affiliate
Summit. James talks about the grown of the industry
and some of the programs which were in their
infancy only a few years ago and are now multimillion
dollar enterprises. James was given some stuff
from an affiliate manager who is trying to get
his Nintendo Wii gaming stuff onto affiliate
sites. James will be heading down to Levenworth,
WA to take a breakation.
