Information:
James
is heading off to Affiliate Summit next weekend.
This will be the largest Affiliate Summit with
over 2500 attendees. Paula and Wanda are flying
in from Australia for the conference and will
be meeting up with James at the summit. The
summit is the kind of place that is good to
make meet partners and make deals. James tends
to circulate in the trade show area with all
the affiliate managers. James does not hand
out his business cards while at the summits.
Charles remembers that in 2004 the summit was
only a few hundred people at an annual event.
Affiliate Summit is now a twice a year event
drawing similar numbers to each event. Suppliers,
hosting companies, merchants and affiliates
make up the majority of the population at the
Affiliate Summit. James talks about the difference
between good affiliate managers and ones who
are new to the game and talks about some of
the affiliate network programs he deals with.
James also talks about the difference between
brick and mortar and pay for performance. Charles
and James talk about the product page for the
Shelby site and how to create a nicely thought
through product page. James talks about how
the product page is crafted to serve a particular
merchant – in this case allposters.com
– this page took about ten hours to create.
James talks about creating multimedia additions
to a website.
